Nanaimo, the Harbour City, is a major entry point for visitors travelling to Vancouver Island. BC Ferries provides ferry service to Nanaimo from both Horseshoe Bay north of Vancouver and Tsawwassen south of Vancouver. Nanaimo Airport serves more than twenty daily flights from points on the mainland, including Vancouver. Chartered and scheduled harbour-to-harbour floatplane service is also available.
To get to the Oceanside region, follow the Oceanside Route (Highway 19A), an especially scenic section of the Island Highway System. Beginning just south of Parksville, this route follows the coastline to Campbell River, providing access to the communities and attractions that make Oceanside a vacation paradise. Flights into the area land at Qualicum Beach Airport.
