Duncan in the Region of Cowichan: Rare charm and wonderful sightseeing attractions make your trip an unforgettable experience.

Cowichan Duncan

Duncan is the largest Cowichan community and a significant centre for First Nations heritage. Called the City of Totems, Duncan boasts more than 80 totems (including the world’s widest), is home to the Quw’utsun’ Cultural and Conference Centre, and is famous for boutiques and galleries featuring fine art and crafts by First Nations artists.
Duncan is also known for family attractions. The Freshwater Eco-Centre features live trout, hands-on activities, history, and tours. You can learn all about the past, present, and future of forestry at the BC Forest Discovery Centre. Pioneer history is the focus at the Cowichan Valley Museum, located in the 1912 train station. Other highlights include the Rainforest Mural and the Art Alley, the World’s Largest Hockey Stick, the downtown boutique shopping area, and Whippletree Junction, a collection of shops and restaurants constructed from the building fronts of Duncan’s former Chinatown.
