The Cowichan Valley is the largest farming area on Vancouver Island with more than 17,376 hectares of farmland producing everything from fruit, vegetables, and flowers, to emus, alpacas, and chickens. You can often buy direct from the farms, or you can fill your basket at a farm markets. Most communities have farm markets during the summer and fall, and in Cobble Hill (Sundays) and Duncan (Saturdays), there are weekly markets year-round. Farm tours are also available.
