Each of the Gulf Islands is a destination in itself with unique characteristics and highlights. As a visitor, you can choose one island as a day trip or overnight getaway, or you can choose several and travel between them by ferry. Gabriola is accessible from Nanaimo and is ideal as a day trip or overnight escape. The other five main Gulf Islands, Salt Spring, Mayne, Pender, Galiano, and Saturna, can be toured individually or on a BC Ferries Circle Tour, which makes brief stops at all of the islands, allowing you to see them from the water, or to disembark and explore each island over several days.
