North Central year round Mount Washington

Vancouver Island’s largest skiing and snowboarding area, Mount Washington is easily accessed from both Courtenay and Campbell River and is a significant area for year-round recreation. During the winter months, record snow falls create a paradise for skiers, snowboarders, and cross country skiers. Downhill skiers choose from groomed gentle slopes, powder chutes, and mogul fields spread over 50 runs and serviced by eight lifts, including two high-speed chairlifts. Snowboarders enjoy two terrain parks including an all-natural half-pipe groomed with a pipe grinder. The snow-tubing area offers both day and night time tubing. Mount Washington’s world-class nordic centre includes 55 kilometers of cross country skiing trails, 20 kilometers of snowshoe trails, and a 300-metre natural luge track, as well as dining, equipment rentals, lessons, and shopping When the snow melts and the alpine meadows burst into bloom, hikers, mountain bikers, and mountain climbers take over the slopes at Mount Washington and nearby Forbidden Plateau, a beautiful sub-alpine area of forests and meadows that is part of Strathcona Provincial Park In the summer, Mount Washington offer incredible summer sky rides on their chairlifts.
