Renowned as being one of the world’s best places to explore caves, the North Island region is estimated to have more than 1,000 caves and karst (limestone formations). Caving experts can check out Little Huson Regional Cave Park, between Woss and Port McNeil. The caves in this park are difficult to access; however, there is a lovely scenic hike. The Port Alice area
also has caves and some bizarre karst formations. You can explore on your own or on a guided tour.
