Wintertime in the North Island region means powder skiing and snowboarding at Mount Cain. This affordable family ski resort is open weekends and holidays from about mid-December to April and is suitable for all ski levels. There are 18 runs, 20 per cent for beginners and 45 per cent for intermediate skiers. Facilities include two T-bars, a handle tow, and a day lodge with a restaurant, ski shop, and ski rentals. Chains are required for driving on the access road from Highway 19. |
