The cheapest cuts in the city are to be had at Vancouver Community College’s City Centre campus (250 West Pender Street, Downtown, 604-443-8332). It’s well under ten bucks for a shampoo, cut, and blow-dry. Or check out the row of cheap salons in the 6oo block of Main Street in Chinatown. They’re busy, but employees are still out on the street, eyeing your cut and enticing you in.
At the other extreme, the hyper-hip and those with sizable disposable incomes get their hair, nails, faces, and bodies well worked over at Tech 1 Hair Design Inc. (1057 Cambie Street, Yaletown, 604-689-1202).
