This may be unfair to diners who, in spite of the roll of paper towels ensconced on an upright peg on the table, behave perfectly decor¬ously at Memphis Blues Barbeque House (1465 West Broadway, Central Vancouver, 604-738-6806) — I like to delude myself that I’m among them. But when you see the heaping trays of Louisiana-style meats, beans, and slaws making their way to a nearby table, and sneak a glance or three at the couple devouring the entire Memphis feast (“every meat plus all the fixins”), you’ll agree that “pig out” is not out of whack. This is a small joint, so arrive early (or late). Be mentally prepared to indulge in slabs o’ ribs, brisket, chicken, and sausage — all “baaa-be-cue,” authentically prepared on the licensed premises. But I almost forgot dessert! I recommend the southern peach cobbler — a la mode, of course.
