Theatre Under the Stars (Malkin Bowl, Stanley Park, 604-687-0174, www.tuts.bc.ca) has been staging popular musicals in Stanley
Park forever just about every longtime Vancouverite has seen a production of the likes of Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, South Pacific or Annie Get Your Gun. These years, TUTS runs two semi-professional productions during July and August (sky permitting) in its 2,000-seat outdoor Malkin Bowl. (Word is, the old structure may face a wrecking ball one of these days, so get there soon.) Take your blanket and umbrella; if it’s nice, people picnic beforehand on the lawn.
